25 Sep Why it’s not easy to shift negative thinking
For years, I tried to control the negative thoughts in my mind. I remember getting so frustrated when I couldn’t just shut them off, especially because I was constantly learning, “Thoughts are things.” “You become what you think about.”
At times, I would literally say, “STOP” inside of my head, but it never really worked.
I remember panicking and wondering, “What the heck? I’m meditating and saying affirmations daily. Why can’t I just stop my negative thinking? Am I doing something wrong?”
If I only knew then what I know now…
We’re all going to have negative thoughts pop-up, and yes, it’s true that we don’t want them to create an unwanted reality.
But battling to make them go away, only makes them stronger.
